EMP "Eumel" – 48 V phantom power adapter for electret microphones
The EMP, nicknamed "Eumel" (pronounced "Oymal", German for widget), is exactly that: a small widget that lets you run electret microphones on microphone inputs with 48 V phantom power – for example a lavalier wired for a wireless system, connected directly by cable. It reduces the phantom voltage to 5.6 V electret power and outputs the signal actively balanced at low impedance.
For the common wireless connectors
The Eumel is available with a range of input sockets to match the plugs of the popular wireless systems, in 2- or 3-wire configuration. Choose the version that matches your microphone connector. The output is always an XLR-3M.
With the EMPXLR solder version, you can solder your lavalier microphone to the XLR connector yourself.
